Research

My research interests focus on how technology is used in educational settings. I am particularly interested in the enhancement of existing processes and systems, especially instructional materials and standardized tests, by means of information and communications technology. I also study the cognitive processes that underlay the adoption of new technology by teachers and students.

I'm also interested in cognition and learning, especially the new insights into higher-level cognitive processes such as judgment and decision-making that come from cognitive neuroscience.

Other significant research interests include personal epistemology and its impact on classroom instruction and the history and philosophy of psychological science.
